2019 Junior Thespians Play Day

Who:  Any Middle School (6-8 grade)! You do not need to be a Thespian Troupe.

What:  The Theme for Junior Play Day 2019 is Remote Control!

Students will recreate fairy tales and well known stories with options that you can do on a remote control. Fast forward, rewind, pause, subtitles, bonus commentary.

Students can also change the channel on genre! Wild West Red Riding Hood, Sci Fi Snow White, Cartoon Network Three Little Pigs, Lifetime original movie Shrek.

Where:  ACMA (Arts and Communication Magnet Academy) 11375 SW Center St, Beaverton, OR 97005

When:  Saturday, January 19, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Why: This is a ‘learn about Thespians’ day, but also to foster community in our middle school theatre programs. Your students will get a chance to see kids from other schools, and build relationships based on theatre.

How Much:  FREE for all students!

Lunch:  Students need to bring a lunch. Director’s will be provided lunch! There will be a troupe/group rep meeting for your troupe president or rep from your group.

Chaperones:  We Require 1 chaperone per 10 students.

We will also include a lesson-plan exchange table for sharing middle school lesson ideas you can bring back to your classroom immediately! Please bring at least one lesson to share with you!

Each school is encouraged to bring a short (no longer than 5 minutes) scene from their current production to share!
